 TURBO INSTALLATION KIT FOR PROPER INSTALLATION OF ALL GARRETT GT-1446 TURBOS

The following components are required for proper installation of any Garrett GT-1446 Turbo (OEM, NGEN, G-Pop).  The kit includes:

- (9) Exhaust Manifold Studs (Picture 2, #3)

- (9) Exhaust Manifold Nuts (Picture 2, #10)

- (1) Exhaust Manifold Gasket (Picture 2, #1)

- (2) Coolant Return Line Banjo Bolt Crusher Washers (Picture 1, #17)

- (2) Oil Return Line Crusher Washers (Picture 1, #11)

- (1) Oil Return Line Gasket (connects to the turbo) (Picture 1, #15)

- (4) Oil Supply Line Crusher Washers (Picture 1, #26 & #21)

- (1) Turbo to Exhaust Manifold Gasket (#4)

- Full Color Instructions on how to install a turbo on a Multi-Air 1.4L North American Engine (Abarth is used for example)


OPTIONAL COMPONENTS FOR OPTIMAL INSTALLATION (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY FCA) - $175

FCA recommends replacing these two lines for possible oil contamination.  We highly recommend replacing these lines if your vehicle is over 3 years old or has more than 20,000 miles.

- Oil Return Line (Picture 1, #13)

- Oil Supply Line (Picture 1, #25)

 

PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WHEN REPLACING/INSTALLING A TURBO!  Although this install CAN be done in your garage (our installation instructions shows how this way), if you are not mechanically inclined, we do not recommend performing this install on your own.  To have this installed professionally, we recommend the following facilities:

PLEASE NOTE:  A "bad" turbocharger would operate badly almost from the moment of installation, but a turbocharger which has operated successfully for a period of time, and then fails, almost invariably fails because of a deficiency in the operation of the associated engine systems.  Most major causes of failure with a turbocharger is the result of faulty lubrication systems.  Abnormal wear in the bearings or seals results from abrasive contaminants in the oil, or an insufficient supply of oil.  Other systems, such as fuel and ignition, can also play a part in causing engine troubles in which turbocharger system malfunction is originally suspected.
